libbrailleReading by touch

An independent publication about braille and tactile reading. A C library called libbraille was once one of the pieces of software that let Linux drive a braille display. This publication is not that software and has nothing to do with it.

Contact and corrections

Corrections are the mail we most want.

Corrections are the mail we most want. If a dot pattern, a measurement, a date or an attribution on this site is wrong, tell us which page and what the correct value is, and we will fix the page.

Corrections and factual queries

corrections@libbraille.org

Include the page title and, where you can, a source. We amend the text in place rather than appending notes, because a correction that a reader has to hunt for is not a correction.

Editorial

editorial@libbraille.org — pitches, questions about coverage, and requests to reuse material.

Underwriting

underwriting@libbraille.org — the presses, libraries and workshops listed on the homepage pay for the publication and have no say in what it covers. That separation is a condition of the arrangement, not a courtesy.

What we cannot help with

We do not recommend, price, source, repair or supply equipment, and we do not give advice about sight loss. This is a publication about how tactile reading works, and nothing on it should be read as a service.
